Hello beautiful peoples. I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to those who have been long time supporters of my work, and the craziness that goes on in my life. In a nutshell, things have been quite insane. How insane? Insane in the membrane... Terrible jokes aside, I wanted to share this kickstarter page with you all. As many of you know, my comic partner (mufc10.deviantart.com/) and I have been working away at our comic book, "Painted Black". Show some love by visiting the page, sharing it, and maybe dropping a donation or two in there ;) www.kickstarter.com/projects/z….

Other than that, I'm prepping for Boston Comic Con, so if you're interested in meeting me in person, now's your chance! And now that the comic has been more revealed, I can upload the cover I did episodes ago, yaaaay! Enjoy the evening folks!

Hey friends and fans,

Just wanted to give you all an update on developments in my life. Working as a graphic design intern for a non profit in Boston, and so far I'm loving it. Also, I've recently worked on several designs and illustrations for people and companies, including Laced Boston, Kimo Hill, True Artists, and of course work for the Painted Black Comic book. Working on a really awesome cover for it (sketch of several elements coming soonish). But I looked through some super old drawings I had from way back before high school, and I will be uploading one of them in a few minutes. I heard from a great artist (goes by the name Idrawgirls) www.youtube.com/user/idrawgirl…. Anyway, Ive been looking at time lapse paintings and drawings to get myself in the mood, and he has some great tips, tricks, techniques, and advice. I've used this opportunity to look through old pieces and recreate them, with the advice of Idrawgirls. Expect some remakes at some point!

Its been quite a while since I've posted anything, but april 1st is just as good as any other day. Blackoni.com and Blackoniblog.com are in production. The blog is a physical website, with barely any content on it, and blackoni.com has content, but it isn't uploaded yet. Doesn't make too much sense to do so in its state. I'm working on the cover of painted black issue 2, as well as various colored pages. Our intentions were to make it to the boston comic con with this new issue, but the time crunch is intense. I am doing a book cover for author Kimo Hill, which is going ridiculously well. He will be pleased when he sees it, and all my viewers and fans will as well. Needless to say its a definite masterpiece. Working on several illustrations for the convention (hoping I make it in time), and apparently I have a meeting next week with a software developer to talk about some designs. Busy man :)

Hello all. Just to keep everyone updated (and to have a journal to remind me of what I need to do), I will be updating this much more often, as well as using wordpress to Blog about whats going on my life, and in the art world.
1:
The Black Oni Blog will be in conjunction with Blackoni.com, and will feature my portfolio, an "about me" section, an area where you can buy my art, and t-shirts, the blog, and contact information. It will be the homebase for my services, and for seeing interesting art and design. The Black Oni Blog will be a great way for viewers to learn more about me, my process, the people I know, and with the inclusion of "QCF", or "Quarter-Circle Forward", viewers will see segments where I, or someone else I give admin access to will talk about video game art, and video game related content, such as reviews, product reviews, first impressions, links to other sites, and more. I have HUGE plans for this site, and will be pumping my energy into it this coming summer. There's a lot of css and html stuff I need to go over before I get too huge in it, so you may see some "failed attempts" at some designs for the website. Whenever you see them, feel free to leave comments on what your thoughts are.

2:
I am currently working on several projects for people. Right now, a friend of mine working at ITT tech is working on an indie video game project with his students, and he's asked for me to be sort of the art director behind that. I've been pluggin away at that, and coming up with some sketches. I don't want to post all of that stuff up till its more complete, so that's why I haven't had any submissions in so long. Also, Damir from Revolutionary Me has asked for me to work on an art piece to be printed on t-shirts. I haven't forgotten about you, but I just want to make sure I give myself enough time to work on that, and all of my other ambitious projects. In addition to that, I'm doing some work for AMB, for his show. Come April 22nd, I'll be photographing his performance. This will be a great opportunity for me to play around with my camera some more, and it'll give us time to meet up about the album cover I did for him. Not sure if I'm quite finished up yet, but so far it looks great. I know he'll love it, because he loved the one I didn't even like that much, so more juicy good news!

3:
I am currently working on portfolio boosters, such as mock up advertisements like flyers, newsletter layouts, page layouts, banners, posters, illustrations, and general commercial work to showcase more of a broad spectrum of graphic design skills. I'll be looking to do more logos and business cards as well, as long as time allows for it. So exciting!

Again, I want to shoutout to all of those who support me and my work. I've gained a lot of valuable insight on things, and I definitely appreciate every page view, and every watch. Tune in soon to see what else I have up my sleeve! I have many more ideas that haven't been put into action yet, so more on the waaaaay!

Soooo, my last journal entry was about all the stuff I was gonna do. And I WILL do them, just not yet. Right now, my focus is on tackling my Japanese/hip hop blend fascination, sculptures, and t-shirt and digital design stuff. On top of that there's an exhibition opportunity coming up for art that includes water in the main subject. There will be some more submissions very soon. I've been hard at work on several designs, drawings, and paintings. So basically I'll just have more work produced and documented. I have some things that still need to be scanned. Just you wait folks, I got some epic stuff on the way! Also stumbled upon the concept artist for Alpha Protocol which is pretty cool. Its always great to hear from people working from the inside. He mentioned that the flare of working for video games wears off, just like with anything, but its still pretty much one of the best jobs I could imagine myself having. Its getting to the point however that I need to sell more work, and get a stable job in the arts that's fulfilling and well paying. I have a lot of plans for my future, but to get there, I need to take it one step at a time. I just hope it won't take that long. Term 3 in NYC will help out ALOT, and I've yet to hear back from Artists For Humanity in Boston, but I think my chances are pretty good. We'll see :) Thanks to everyone who actively supports me!
